Poker Lifestyle

Actually, I’m guilty for the fact that I am addicted to poker. I am single, I have a great career, I have an incredible group of friends, I have money, and I almost have the worldly things in this life. It just a piece of thought that strike through my mind of how can a married man/woman manage his/her family and poker?

Let’s just face the truth that when you play poker, you will throw out big money on the game. In addition to that, a player has no assurance that he will win the game. So how could you manage that situation if you are also spending money for the needs of your family?

My piece of advice to those who are having a hard time balancing poker and family, you need discipline and a good time management. Don’t take your bad play on your partner because it won’t help the situation. It is always a good feeling to have a good relationship with your family and at the same time is to have a smooth gameplay.

Poker History

I went to a bar last night with my friends. We had a great night, and we talked about everything in our lives. Of course, the main topic of the conversation is poker. And guess what, we had all night argument on how and when the poker started? Can you believe it?

The next day, I still have the hangover about poker’s origin. Therefore, I have decided to find information on the internet about the poker’s history and here is what I have found.

- According to a popular belief, Chinese invented domino, this game became a popular and considered by some to be the precursor of poker.

- According to some specialists, the origin of the name comes from the French poque and pochen from the German.

- Another intriguing piece of speculation is that the word poker originates from the expression hocus-pocus that commonly used by magicians.

- In the modern era, poker started with the inaugural World Series of Poker in 1970 and has grown into the massive event of today.

Happy Hearts Day Poker Players!

Happy hearts day everyone! We, poker players are not all about bracelets and prize pots. We celebrate Heart’s Day too just like everyone else. I am planning to watch a movie, alone. Yes I’m alone because sadly my boyfriend is out of the country and will soon arrive next month. Though he is not here with me, I can still celebrate the valentine’s day. I want to go to our favorite restaurant and eat our favorite food. I like pasta and salads, so yum yum.

Anyway, let me share the poker news I have read a while ago.

Playing Styles of Poker Players

The foundation for success at the tables is to know your opponents’ playing styles. Solid reading and understanding your opponents’ gestures and styles enables you to take advantage of their weaknesses.

Remember that no matter how an opponent plays, there is always a way to defeat his playing style.

Four (4) Playing Styles
Loose-aggressive - to play loosely, which means to play a lot of hands and to play aggressively, which means betting and raising frequently.
Tight-aggressive – solid hand selection, strong position play, aggressive no prisoners raising
Loose-Passive - usually call the bets of the other players regardless of their hand or the associated pot odds.
Tight-Passive - extraordinarily tight with hand selection and will often fold extremely good hands depending on the position at the table.

Poker - Online Gambling

Online Gambling site is the best internet casino. It provides reviews and rankings of the best online betting sites. If you don't like the atmosphere of land-based casinos which can be noisy, intimidating and smoke-filled, and if you want to leave your house, then Online Gambling is the best for you. You can just play at home instead of making trip to Vegas and that's also expensive to do.

Gambling online is meant to be enjoyable. Unfortunately, gambling for some people becomes a distraction to work and family. It is important to be aware of the positive aspects, but pay attention also to the dangers and risks involved.

You should know first the facts to prevent the unnecessary problems in the future. Stay alert to how casinos handle cheating players with their games. Make sure that you check the background of the casino site because many early online gaming sites were often hard to find and they were not secured. I recommend playing only at secured casino sites in order to protect your personal data.

Poker - Most Popular Gambling Game

Poker is one of the most popular gambling games.

Discipline is required to play poker, the player must have intelligence, ability, intellectual and behavioral skills in order to succeed. I want poker to be recognized as mind sport and a game of skill.

I noticed that today's generation of pokerplayers are often relatively young and highly intelligent. They are willing to take calculated risks for big returns. The popularity of poker game is still rapidly increasing.

Play Poker Wisely

"Poker's a day to learn and a lifetime to master."
by Robert Williamson III

It took me days to learn the entire game. But it took me years to master it.

Poker is the popular game today. You can play poker online or even at high end casinos. Poker has been developed and evolved over the years. Poker is an exciting game and fun play but you have to play wisely to avoid risking your money.

Poker is a game of chance. Your chance to win is in your hands so you better stay alert at all times. You should be aware of your opponents' mental and physical strengths or what your opponents are doing. Find his/her weakness,  that's the key to win the game.

Try to read articles of Paul Westin to improve my skills and techniques. He is a professional Poker player and has written several books and articles in trade magazines.
